Home / Inclusive Support / Category H

Category H - Intensive Behaviour

Students identified in this category are those most in need of intensive interventions. They are expected to be less than one percent (1%) of the student population province-wide. These students should have access to co-ordinated school/community interventions, which are based on inter-service/agency assessment processes that are required to manage, educate, and maintain the students in school and in their community.

Supporting Documents

What goes in a Category H file?

NOTE: Both the IEP and determination of Eligibility Form must reflect meaningful parental consulation

H Renewal Information:

We are continuing to revise the H Designation process.

At this time, we ask that you please:

  • complete the 2023-24 H Designation Renewal form and submit it to the email address at the bottom by January 31, 2024 to maintain the designation

  • confirm that the student continues to require an intense level of support and intervention

  • continue to collaborate with outside agencies to ensure services are in place for this student
  • schedule a full Integrated Case Management meeting as part of the IEP Planning process

NEW Designations require the Eligibility form, Regulation Support Plan, the Social Emotional section from the ISPP or DBPT, and the Additional Supports Checklist.
