Ongoing reporting allows for timely and responsive updates and can include using Spaces EDU and/or sending home a Learning Update Template attached to specific projects and sent home on a flexible timeline.
This method of reporting is optional and at the discretion of the teacher.

Am I required to use Spaces?
Teachers can choose the format of their OCSLs. If a teacher chooses to use a digital platform, Spaces is the supported platform.
What happened to FreshGrade?
FreshGrade has discontinued their product as of June 2022.
Why Spaces?
Spaces is a platform that can digitize all four elements of an OCSL: reference to the BC standards and collects student work, student voice, as well as share teacher voice.
Spaces also aligns with BC’s FOIPPA regulations.
If I want to preview Spaces over the Summer, which email address should I use to create my account?
In mid-September, Spaces Pro will be ready with student rosters and single sign in (same PW as email). If you want to take a sneak peek, create a free account using your personal email address, until the school accounts are ready.
Will parent email addresses be auto-populated?
Spaces is working to make this possible, but at this point, parent email address will need to be added manually during the 2022-2023 school year. Instructions.
