The NLPS Indigenous Learning Team is dedicated to creating a meaningful and successful learning experience for all Indigenous students while also supporting the greater learning community in continuing and strengthening our value and respect of Indigenous cultures, histories, knowledge, languages, skills and people as an integral part of our learning.

Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools are excited to launch a new series featuring a Hul̓q̓umín̓um̓ phrase of the week. These phrases have been provided by the Hul̓q̓umín̓um̓ teachers of NLPS to share with educators, students and the larger community so that we can continue our learning journey together with the language of the land. The Salish Weave collection was donated to NLPS by the University of Victoria. Each piece of Coast Salish art tells it’s own story which can be embedded into any subject area to help form a rich learning experience for students.
